D-Day Code Name was the term used to refer to the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944 during World War II. The code names for the two main landing beaches were Utah and Omaha. Utah was the code name for the westernmost beach, which was assigned to the United States 4th Infantry Division. Omaha was the code name for the easternmost beach, which was assigned to the United States 1st Infantry Division and the 29th Infantry Division.
