Cyrano de BERGERAC is a play written by Edmond Rostand in 1897. The story follows Cyrano, a swordsman and poet with an abnormally large NOSE, as he pines for his love, Roxane. Cyrano is also a friend of the handsome but dim-witted Christian, who is also in love with Roxane. Cyrano helps Christian win Roxane's heart by writing love letters to her on his behalf. In the end, Roxane discovers the truth and professes her love for Cyrano. Despite his physical deformity, Cyrano's love for Roxane is strong and true.
