Sammy Sosa was a professional baseball player who played for the Chicago Cubs from 1992 to 2004. He was known as a slugger, meaning he was a powerful hitter, and was one of the most prolific home run hitters in Major League Baseball history. During his time with the Cubs, Sosa hit 545 home runs, making him the all-time leader in home runs for the team. He was also a six-time All-Star and won the National League MVP award in 1998.
