Crimes of the Heart is a play written by American playwright Beth Henley. It follows the story of three sisters, Meg, Babe, and Lenny Magrath, who reunite in their hometown of Hazlehurst, Mississippi after Babe has shot her abusive husband. The play was adapted into a film in 1986, starring Tess Harper as Lenny, Diane Lane as Meg, SISSY Spacek as Babe, and Jessica Lange as Chick Boyle. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
