A LAWSUIT is a civil action brought before a court in which one party sues another for a wrong done or for protection of a right or for prevention of a wrong. The parties involved in a LAWSUIT are known as the plaintiff and the defendant. The plaintiff is the party who initiates the LAWSUIT, while the defendant is the party against whom the LAWSUIT is brought.
