The Count of Monte Cristo is a character from the novel of the same name written by Alexandre Dumas. The protagonist of the novel is Edmond Dantes, who is falsely accused of treason and imprisoned in the Chateau d'If, a notorious DUNGEON. After escaping, he discovers a hidden treasure and takes on the identity of the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo, Donat de Villefort. He then uses his newfound wealth to seek revenge on those who wronged him.
