The term 'Corsica Hero' refers to the French military leader and Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. He was born on the island of Corsica in 1769, and his career began when he joined the French army in 1785. He rose through the ranks quickly and eventually became the commander of the Army of Italy in 1796. He then led a successful campaign against the Austrians and their allies in northern Italy, and in 1799 he seized control of the government in a coup d'etat.
