The Continental Divide is a line of high points that divides the continent of North America into two parts. The Ural Mountains, which span from Russia to Kazakhstan, form part of the divide, as does the AISLE, a mountain range in the western United States. The divide also follows the WATERSHED of the Ural River and the ATLANTIC OCEAN, separating the waters that flow eastward from those that flow westward. The ATLANTIC OCEAN itself forms part of the divide, as does the ATLANTIC-OCEAN WATERSHED.
