Zubin Mehta is a renowned Indian conductor and music director. He is best known for his work with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, which he has been conducting since 1961. Mehta has also conducted orchestras in Europe, North America, and Asia. He has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Kalidas Samman, the highest honor given by the Government of India. Mehta is also the recipient of the Wolf Prize in Arts and the Kennedy Center Honors.
