Edo de Waart is a Dutch conductor and composer. He has held the position of Chief Conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic since 2016. He has also served as Music Director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted numerous orchestras around the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the Royal Philharmonic Society's Gold Medal in 2006. The acronym EDO stands for EDO de Waart, the conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.
