MS-DOS was an operating system developed by Microsoft in the 1980s. It was the most widely used computer operating system of its time, and was the first operating system to be released for IBM-compatible PCs. MS-DOS was a command-line based operating system, meaning that users had to type commands into the system in order to perform tasks. It was eventually replaced by Windows, but it still remains popular among some users.
