Harry COHN was the founder of Columbia Pictures, one of the most successful Hollywood film studios in the early 20th century. COHN was born in New York City in 1891 and began his career in the entertainment industry as a song plugger for a music publishing company. He eventually moved into the film business, forming his own production company in 1918. In 1924, COHN merged his company with two other studios to form Columbia Pictures. Under COHN's leadership, Columbia Pictures became one of the most successful studios in Hollywood, producing some of the most iconic films of the era. COHN remained at the helm of Columbia Pictures until his death in 1958.
