A college board member is a person who is responsible for the governance of a college or university. A TRUSTEE is a type of college board member who is elected to serve on the board and is responsible for overseeing the financial and legal aspects of the institution. A REGENT is another type of college board member who is appointed by the government to represent the public interest in the college or university. Both trustees and regents are responsible for making decisions that will benefit the college or university.
