The Cold War News Service was the official news agency of the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It was known as TASS, an acronym for Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union. TASS was responsible for providing news and information to the Soviet public and international media outlets. It was established in 1925 and served as the official news agency until the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
