Lvov is a city in western Ukraine, located on the banks of the Dniester River. It is the largest city in the region and the seventh-largest city in the country. Lvov is an important cultural, educational, and industrial center of Ukraine, and is home to many universities, museums, and theaters. The city has a long and rich history, having been founded in the 13th century and serving as the capital of the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia from 1272 to 1772.
