Olean is a city located in southwestern New York, near the Pennsylvania border. It is the largest city in Cattaraugus County and has a population of around 14, 000 people. Olean was founded in 1804 and is known for its natural gas reserves, which were discovered in 1881. The city is home to St. Bonaventure University and is a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to Allegany State Park.
