The Chisholm Trail was a major route for CATTLE drives from Texas to Kansas in the late 19th century. The cities of Enid, Waco, Abilene, and San Antonio were all stops along the trail. Herds of CATTLE were driven through these cities, and Jesse Chisholm, the trail's namesake, was a trader who often drove his own herds of CATTLE and horses. Kan was also a stop along the trail, and was the site of the first major CATTLE drive.
