A chamber ensemble is a small musical group consisting of two to about twelve musicians. The most common chamber ensembles are the TRIO, which consists of three musicians, and the OCTET, which consists of eight musicians. Both of these ensembles are typically composed of strings, woodwinds, brass, and/or percussion instruments. Chamber ensembles are often used in classical music, jazz, and other genres of music.
