Certain South Africans refers to two distinct ethnic groups, the Boers and the Zulus. The Boers are descendants of Dutch settlers who arrived in South Africa in the 17th century. They are mainly Afrikaans-speaking and are concentrated in the provinces of the Free State and North West. The Zulus are a Bantu ethnic group native to South Africa and are the largest ethnic group in the country. They are mainly concentrated in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
