The ARAL Sea is a large body of water located in Central Asia, between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. It was once one of the four largest lakes in the world, but has since shrunk due to the diversion of its feeder rivers for irrigation and other uses. The ARAL Sea is now considered an endorheic lake, meaning it has no outlet to the ocean. It is now much smaller than it once was, and is divided into two separate bodies of water.
