The Cenozoic ERA, also known as the Age of Mammals, is the most recent ERA of geological time, spanning from 66 million years ago to the present day. The Paleozoic ERA, on the other hand, is the earliest ERA of geological time, spanning from 541 million years ago to 252 million years ago. Both eras are divided into periods and epochs, and are characterized by the emergence of different species of plants and animals.
