Casey Kasem was an American disc jockey, music historian, radio personality, and actor. He was best known for hosting the nationally syndicated Top 40 countdown show 'American Top 40' from 1970 to 2009. He was also the voice of Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo franchise from 1969 to 1997. Casey played for the New York Mets baseball team from 1962 to 1965. He was managed by Casey Stengel, who was a Major League Baseball player and manager from 1898 to 1965. Casey also worked as a steamfitter in Detroit before becoming a radio personality.
