Matt Groening is an American cartoonist, animator, writer, producer, and voice actor. He is best known for creating the animated television series The Simpsons, Futurama, and Disenchantment. Groening's first professional cartooning job was drawing a weekly comic strip called Life in Hell, which he published from 1977 to 2012. He has won 12 Primetime Emmy Awards, 11 for The Simpsons and one for Futurama.
