Captain Jean-Luc Picard is a fictional character from the Star Trek franchise. He is the captain of the USS Enterprise-D and later the USS Enterprise-E. He was portrayed by actor Patrick Stewart in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and in the feature films Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek: Nemesis. Picard is an accomplished diplomat, strategist, and scientist, as well as a highly decorated Starfleet officer. He is known for his strong moral code and his dedication to the ideals of the United Federation of Planets.
