Canadian physician Sir William Osler was a prominent figure in the medical field during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was born in Ontario, Canada in 1849 and is considered one of the founders of modern medicine. Osler was a professor at both McGill University and Oxford University, and he was also the first person to hold the position of Physician-in-Chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was knighted in 1911 for his contributions to medicine, and he is remembered for his pioneering work in the fields of pathology, clinical medicine, and medical education.
