California is home to two volcanic peaks, Mount Shasta and Lassen Peak. Mount Shasta is a potentially active volcano located at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California. It is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California. Lassen Peak is an active volcano located in the southernmost part of the Cascade Range in Lassen County, California. It is the largest plug dome volcano in the world and the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range. Both peaks are popular destinations for hikers and climbers.
