Burundi is a small landlocked country in East Africa, bordered by Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east and south, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. The two main ethnic groups in Burundi are the Hutu and the Tutsi, with the Tutsi being the minority group. Rwanda, another East African country, is also home to a large population of Tutsi people. Both countries have experienced periods of civil unrest due to the tensions between the two ethnic groups.
