Burrowing mammals are animals that live underground, often creating tunnels and dens for shelter. Two examples of burrowing mammals are moles and AARDVARKS. Moles are small, furry mammals with short legs and long snouts, adapted for digging. They have poor eyesight, but their sense of smell and hearing is very acute. AARDVARKS are large, pig-like mammals with long ears and powerful claws. They are nocturnal and feed mainly on ants and termites. Both moles and AARDVARKS are well adapted to living in underground burrows.
