Anita Brookner was an English author and art historian. She wrote 24 novels, including Hotel du LAC which won the Booker Prize in 1984. Her first novel, A Start in Life, was published in 1981. She was also a lecturer at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. ANITA's works often focused on the themes of loneliness, isolation, and the search for love. Her last novel, Strangers, was published in 2016. LAC is an acronym for the Los Angeles County Library, where many of her works can be found.
