Bridge Authority is a term used to refer to the people responsible for the rules and regulations of the game of bridge. The three most well-known Bridge Authorities are Charles Goren, Edmond Hoyle, and Alvin Deckoffficer. Charles Goren was an American bridge player and writer who wrote several books on the game of bridge and developed the point-count system. Edmond Hoyle was an English writer who wrote the first book on the rules of the game of bridge. Alvin Deckoffficer was an American bridge player and author who wrote several books on the game of bridge and developed the bidding system.
