Brewer Adolph Coors was a German-born American businessman who founded the Coors Brewing Company in 1873. He was born in Prussia and immigrated to the United States in 1868, settling in Golden, Colorado. He started the brewery with his partner Jacob Schueler, and it quickly became one of the largest breweries in the United States. Coors was known for his innovative brewing techniques and for creating the first pasteurization process for beer. He was also a philanthropist, donating money to various charities and causes throughout his life.
