Marlon Brando was an American actor who was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He is best known for his roles in films such as The Godfather and A Streetcar Named Desire. His performance in the latter earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. He also starred in the film adaptation of Viva Zapata!, a biographical drama about Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata. Brando's hometown of Omaha is a city in the Midwestern United States, located on the Missouri River.
