A blended family member is someone who is part of a family unit that has been created through the merging of two previously separate families. This could be a stepchild, who is the child of one's partner from a previous relationship; a stepparent, who is the partner of one's parent from a previous relationship; a stepdad, who is the father of one's partner from a previous relationship; or a stepson, who is the son of one's partner from a previous relationship.
