Eubie Blake was an American jazz pianist, composer, and lyricist. He was a prominent figure in the Harlem Renaissance and is considered one of the most influential ragtime composers of all time. Blake was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and began playing the piano at the age of four. He went on to become a major figure in the development of jazz music, composing over 300 songs and writing the lyrics for many of them. He was also a prolific performer, appearing in numerous Broadway shows and films. Blake's most famous works include 'Charleston Rag' and 'Memories of You'.
