Opal Tometi is a co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement. She is an American human rights activist and executive director of the Black Alliance for Just Immigration. She was born in Arizona to Nigerian immigrant parents and has been involved in social justice work since her college days. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona and holds a master's degree in international relations. She has worked with organizations such as the United Nations, Amnesty International, and the NAACP. She is a passionate advocate for the rights of immigrants and people of color.
