The term BK stands for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), a U.S. government agency that supports research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. Established in 1965, the NEH is an independent federal agency that has awarded more than $5 billion in grants to support scholarly research, preserve and provide access to cultural resources, strengthen teaching and learning in the humanities, and provide opportunities for lifelong learning.
