Earl Derr Biggers was an American author best known for his mystery novels featuring the Chinese-American detective Charlie Chan. He also wrote a number of short stories and plays. His novel The House Without a Key was adapted into a 1925 silent film starring George Kuwa and Anna May Wong. Biggers' other works include The Chinese Parrot, Behind That Curtain, and Charlie Chan Carries On. Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel The Son of Tarzan was adapted into a movie in 1921, which Biggers wrote the screenplay for. Biggers' novel Seven Keys to Baldpate was adapted into a play in 1917 and a movie in 1925.
