The Biblical Kingdom near the Dead Sea is composed of two kingdoms: Moab and Edom. Moab was an ancient kingdom located east of the Dead Sea in what is now modern-day Jordan. It was ruled by a succession of kings from the time of Abraham until it was conquered by the Assyrians in the 8th century BC. Edom was an ancient kingdom located south of the Dead Sea in what is now modern-day Israel and Jordan. It was ruled by a succession of kings from the time of Moses until it was conquered by the Babylonians in the 6th century BC. Both Moab and Edom were important kingdoms in the region during the time of the Bible.
