Baseball's World SERIES is an annual championship SERIES of Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States and Canada, played between the American League (AL) champion team and the National League (NL) champion team. The winner of the World SERIES championship is determined through a best-of-seven playoff and is awarded the Commissioner's Trophy. The World SERIES has been held annually since 1903, except in 1904 and 1994 when the SERIES was not held due to labor stoppages.
