Ryne Sandberg is a former Major League Baseball player who played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005 and is widely considered one of the greatest second basemen of all time. Sandberg was an All-Star 10 times, won nine consecutive Gold Glove Awards, and was the National League MVP in 1984. He was also a two-time NL home run leader and a three-time NL runs batted in leader.
