Baseball's Preacher ROE was a professional baseball player who played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Brooklyn Dodgers from 1944 to 1954. He was known for his strong pitching skills and was nicknamed 'The Preacher' due to his religious background. He was a three-time All-Star and won the National League ERA title in 1953. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983.
