Baseball's Martinez is a reference to two Major League Baseball players, Tino Martinez and Pedro Martinez. Tino Martinez is a former first baseman who played for the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 1988 to 2005. Pedro Martinez is a former pitcher who played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies from 1992 to 2009. Both players have been inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
