Felipe ALOU is a former Major League Baseball player and manager. He played for 17 seasons in the MLB, primarily as an outfielder, and managed for 15 seasons. ALOU was born in the Dominican Republic and made his MLB debut in 1958 with the San Francisco Giants. He went on to play for the Atlanta Braves, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, and Montreal Expos. ALOU was a three-time All-Star and won two Gold Glove Awards. After retiring as a player, he became a manager and led the Montreal Expos from 1992 to 2001. He also managed the San Francisco Giants from 2003 to 2006. ALOU is considered one of the most successful Latin American managers in MLB history.
