Barnaby is a character from the 1960s television show 'The Beverly Hillbillies'. The character was played by Buddy Ebsen and was the main antagonist of the show. He was a banker who was always trying to take advantage of the Clampett family. Barnaby was also the name of the title character in the novel 'Barnaby Rudge' by Charles Dickens. The novel was published in 1841 and tells the story of a young man who is caught up in the Gordon Riots of 1780.
