A bar assistant, also known as a barback, is a person who works in a bar or restaurant to assist the bartenders. They are responsible for stocking and organizing the bar, preparing garnishes, cleaning glasses and utensils, and helping to serve drinks. Bar assistants may also be asked to help with other tasks such as setting up for events, taking out the trash, and helping to clean up after closing.
