Bacon Unit is a term used to describe the three different cuts of bacon: STRIP, SLICE, and SLAB. A STRIP cut of bacon is a long, thin cut of bacon that is usually about 1/4 inch thick. A SLICE cut of bacon is a thinner cut of bacon that is usually about 1/8 inch thick. Finally, a SLAB cut of bacon is a thicker cut of bacon that is usually about 1/2 inch thick. All three cuts of bacon are commonly used in cooking and can be found in most grocery stores.
