Gene Autry was an American singer, actor, and businessman who is best known for his singing cowboy roles in Western films. He starred in 93 films between 1935 and 1953, as well as in the television series The GENE Autry Show. Autry was also one of the most popular singers of his time, recording more than 600 songs, many of which were about the Old West. He was nicknamed 'The Singing Cowboy' and was the first person to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
