Autocratic order is a type of government in which one person has absolute power and authority. This type of government is often characterized by a lack of checks and balances, and the leader's decisions are not subject to any form of review or appeal. The term autocratic order is often used interchangeably with the terms EDICT and UKASE. An EDICT is a proclamation issued by a ruler or government, usually with the force of law. A UKASE is a proclamation or order issued by the Russian tsar or government. Both edicts and ukases are typically issued without any form of public consultation or debate.
