Mary Shelley is an English author best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus. She was born in London in 1797 and died in 1851. MARY Shelley was the daughter of William Godwin, a political philosopher, and MARY Wollstonecraft, a feminist writer. She married the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1816 and wrote several novels, short stories, and essays. Her works are considered to be some of the earliest examples of science fiction and horror literature.
