Sara Paretsky is an American author best known for her series of detective novels featuring the female private investigator V.I. Warshawski. She has written more than 20 books, including the novel 'Indemnity Only' which won the British Crime Writers' Association Silver Dagger Award in 1982. Paretsky has also been awarded the Cartier Diamond Dagger Award for lifetime achievement in crime writing.
